SOLIDARITY LETTER OF MMWU PRESIDENT
M. TARASENKO TO THE NATIONAL UNION OF MINERS’,
METALWORKERS AND RELATED TRADES OF MEXICO Dear Brothers and Sisters!
On behalf of the million members of the Miners’& Metallurgical Workers’ Union of Russia we’d like to communicate our solidarity and support in connection with despotism of Mexico government and rude violations of trade unions’ rights and independence. In no country of the world do governments remove or appoint trade union leaders.
We utterly condemn illegal actions of the government and authorities roughly violating the ILO Conventions.
We’ d like to express our support to SNTMMS General secretary Napoleon Gomez Urrutia, also member of the IMF Executive Committee, illegally removed from his post. All Russian metalworkers’ unions demand to stop the campaign of defamation, slander and character assassination being conducted against him, his colleagues, and the union.
