WORKING TO RULE: 12 DAYS STRIKE MADE EMPLOYER RESPECT WORKERS’ RIGHTS 01.07.2016
After unjustified reduction of number of workers by more than 360 people since June, 2015 and starting to use a new wage system trade union committee of OAO “EVRAZ KGOK” – “EVRAZ Kachkanarsky Ore Mining and Processing Enterprise” made their demands to the employer and started work to rule strike since 2 of June, 2016. Claims of workers weren’t met and employer was putting pressure on workers to transfer them to other subdivisions and production sections because of shortage of personnel. The decrease of number of workers at dangerous production objects could cause threat to production safety. The employer attempted to influence on trade union organization and was putting pressure on members of trade union. 
65,6% of workers supported the initiative of trade union committee and was ready to maintain their labour rights and interests and to start work to rule. 
“Most of workers work to rule, - said Anatoly Pyankov, chairman of “Kachkanar-Vanady” trade union organization of enterprise, - This is not our first experience of such strikes. And this time our demand is to keep the level of wages. I face a pressure day by day – they try to turn me out, to provoke me to illegal actions. But the mission of trade union leader is to always be together with workers, especially in rough times”. 
“The employer is not ready for a dialog. And it’s shown by their actions. So technical inspector of the Union wasn’t allowed to enter the production area without explanation of reasons”, - commented Vladimir Pomazkin, trade union organization’s vice-chairman. 
“The employer should search for a way out in this crisis situation, but not to the prejudice of workers”, - noticed one of the workers. 
On June, 9, management of “EVRAZ” and “EVRAZ KGOK” met with chairman of trade union organization of the enterprise to find a compromise solution of the conflict. 
The parties decided that management’s policy of reducing production costs shouldn’t violate workers’ rights. Vice-President of “EVRAZ”, director of “URAL” division, M. Andriasov agreed to personally control issues of trouble-free operation of equipment and production safety. 
To prevent significant changes in wages level the cost effectiveness factor was agreed not to cause increase or decrease of workers’ wages by more than 3 000 rubles. 
The parties agreed to jointly consider and solve all possible conflicts preventing negative consequences for workers and to make changes in local and other regulations of social partnership as the need arises.
On June, 14, trade union organization “Kachkanar-Vanady” approved reached agreements, cancelled their demands to employer and stopped the work to rule strike. 
Representatives of trade union committee and employer will continue their social partnership.
