MMWU TAKING PART IN “WORLD’S DECENT WORK DAY” 14.10.2019

On the 7-th of October workers around the world united under the International Union confederation stood up to protect their law-guaranteed rights and interests. In campaigns, organized by the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia took part approximately 1.4 million people, around 400 thousands are members of the youth unions. 

Altay region – more than 80 questions were asked and discussed during the meeting at JSC “Altay Coke” at the Town of Zarinsk regarding social, financial issues, medical insurance and care, salary rise and vacation and sick leave payments.

Belgorod region – in Belgorod City on the 7-th of October took place the rally “For the real salary rise!” Approximately 3000 members of Mining and Metallurgical, Agricultural unions and other Unions got together for the rally. General personnel of government services, scientific institutions, medical personnel, rail road workers and of many more supported the rally. Belgorod Region territorial union calls for fair working conditions and decent salaries and wages and social benefits guaranteed by law.

The geography of participating in the “World’s Decent Work Day” rally regions spreads throughout whole Russia from East to West and from North to South. Other regions are as follow: Altay region, Belgorod region, Volgograd region, Vologda region, Republic of Bashkortostan, Irkutsk region, Novosibirsk region, Orenburg region (southern Russia), Promorsky region (far-east Russia), Sverdlovsk region (Siberia), Chelyabinsk region (industrial center of Russia), Kemerov region (coal production region), Krasnoyarsk region, Moscow region and Nizhniy-Novgorod region.

The amount of people that took part in the “World’s Decent Work Day” rally varied from place to place, changing from less than 100 to a few thousands. General main problems and questions for all regions were combined in general importance. These are as shown below: fair wages and salaries, decent work conditions, social securities, pension funds and payments, occupational house and safety regulations, injury payments, accident or sick leaves, deadly accident family compensations, environmental issues.
